Flying into YYZ for TIFF? How We Handle the Airport Run

If you’re coming for TIFF 2026, odds are you clear customs at Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and need to get to a hotel near King West, the Entertainment District, or somewhere along Front / University.

Normal Tuesday traffic is one thing. Opening weekend of the festival is another — Gardiner and downtown exits clog when half the industry lands within the same six-hour window.

How our airport bookings work in practice: you put the flight number on the reservation. We track it. If the plane is late, we shift the chauffeur; you don’t pay for sitting on the curb at the old time. Meet & greet is optional — useful if you’re travelling with bags or haven’t been through Terminal 1 in a while and want someone at arrivals with your name.

Common drops for TIFF week: hotels on King, Wellington, and Front; straight to Roy Thomson Hall for opening night; Lightbox for daytime industry stuff. If you already know you’ll need evening cars later in the week, tell us when you book the arrival — it’s easier to hold capacity early than scramble on Sept 11.

Put “TIFF 2026” in the booking notes so the desk plans buffer. Start here: airport transfer form, or the TIFF chauffeur page if you want hourly as well. SARJ Worldwide isn’t an official TIFF partner; we’re a chauffeur company covering the same week.
